Orlando is my home. It’s where I grew up, where I built my life, and where I’ve dedicated myself to making a difference. I’m Aaron E. Lewis, and I’m running for Orlando City Commissioner, District 3 because I believe in an Orlando where everyone has the opportunity to thrive—not just the wealthy, not just the well-connected, but all of us.
I know what it’s like to struggle. I was raised by a mother who immigrated here in search of a better future, and I saw firsthand how hard she worked to provide for us. I’ve faced challenges that many in our community know all too well—the stress of making ends meet, the weight of uncertainty, the fight to build something better. Those experiences didn’t break me; they shaped me.
A Life Built on Service
From an early age, I learned that leadership isn’t about titles—it’s about showing up and doing the work. I started working in my father’s business as a teenager, learning what it takes to run a company and support a community. Later, I enlisted in the U.S. Army as a Cavalry Scout (19D) because I believed in serving something greater than myself. When an injury forced me to medically retire, I could have walked away. Instead, I channeled that same drive into serving my community in a different way.
As President & Co-Founder of the Framily Support Network, I’ve worked to break down barriers for Orlando’s most vulnerable—creating low-barrier shelters, supporting workforce development, and pushing for real housing solutions. Every day, I work with people who are doing everything right but still find themselves struggling. That’s not just a policy issue—it’s a failure of leadership, and I refuse to accept it.
Why I’m Running
I’m running for City Commissioner because Orlando is at a crossroads. Housing costs are skyrocketing, wages aren’t keeping up, and too many families are being pushed out of the communities they helped build. We need leadership that doesn’t just talk about these problems—but actually fights for solutions.
I’m not here to play politics. I’m here to get things done.
Let’s Build a Better Orlando—Together
I don’t just want your vote—I want your voice. I want to hear your stories, your struggles, and your hopes for this city. Because the best solutions don’t come from City Hall; they come from the people who live and work here every day.
If you’re ready for a leader who will show up, listen, and fight for you, I’m ready to get to work.
